Oil experts laud FG for privatising refineries
 "Experts in the oil and gas industry have lauded the Federal Government moves in deregulating the downstream sector of the industry as a way out of the crude refining crisis in Nigeria. Some told BusinessDay in separate interviews that regulation of petroleum product prices would always be a disincentive towards attracting investments into the crude refining sector, explaining that because of the unsavoury record of government companies in the management of the refineries, the best option was to give it to private operators, who would manage it more efficiently.

Mr. Chu Uzokris holds a degree in Automotive Engineering. He worked at Daimler Benz AG/AMMAMCO. Prior to establishing Dowell Concepts & Dowell Maritime & Oil Resources Ltd., he worked for Global Shipping Co. Ltd.  His areas of core competence are in Shipping, Transport, Freight forwarding, Warehousing, Vessel Chartering & Ship Management among others. He still overseas the day-to-day affairs of his employees – always working to make every element of the company function at maximum efficiency and ensuring that every customer  is as satisfied as possible. He has undergone vast training and acquired considerable knowledge in Shipping, Oil & Gas Operations and Logistics.

 
Mrs. Roselyn Uzoh  (Director)

Mrs. Roselyn Uzoh has served as Director (Operations) since 2003, she helped the company grow from its infancy to international reputation. Her current duties include – but not limited to – distribution development, transportation logistics, ship protective agency and all domestic matters. As Director (Operations) she coordinates various departments while her commitment to customer support – a key element of any business, certainly, but an experienced and trustworthy business associate is a prerequisite to long-term goal accomplishment. She has played an integral role in Dowell Maritime’s expansion from a small Shipping & Oil Trading operation to a known major player.   She has attended many courses in Business management both locally and internationally.

 

Emeka Uzoh Christian Jnr. ( Executive Director)
Emeka Uzoh Christian jnr. is the Director of Finance since 2003. He plays a critical role in developing and implementing Dowell Maritime’s strategy, both in the short term – tracking liquidity and stability as financial adviser to the Management.  Emeka is responsible for evaluating Dowell Maritime’s longitudinal growth, ensuring that all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities are met, and liaising with auditors, banks and various financial institutions. He has held just about every position regarding corporate financial management, deepening his knowledge and understanding of how to be an effective DoF. He has the unique ability to understand the terminology of letters of credit from our numerous customers from different countries.  He is diligent in his efforts to keep the company healthy and viable for many years to come. Any company that revolves the volume of shipping and oil trading activities that Dowell Maritime does is going to create an enormous quantity of financial data to be analyzed and categorized, but he shoulders the burden with ease. He holds (B.Sc) in Economics.

 

Adedara Omowumi Christiana  (Company Secretary)
Adedara Omowumi Christiana is the Company Secretary since 2001. A job that handles all activities in and out the various departments in the company. She has played a dominant role in the growth of Dowell since 2001 till date. She overseas corporate affairs of the company. She holds a degree in History & International Relations. Bringing her background as a well trained desk and with many years of experience, specializing in the administrative arm of the company, she is responsible for the transactional and transformational activities of the Human Resources department. It pays to have employees with a certain amount of perfectionism.  Christy is  a meticulous and prudent manager.

 

Victoria Abia  ( Head - Client Service Executives)
Victoria built a career in Marketing in the downstream sector of the Oil & Gas Industry, she is resourceful and very proficient in business development. Prior to joining Dowell Maritime & Oil Resources Ltd, Victoria was a pioneer staff of Bundus Oil & Gas Ltd. She has over 6 years of experience in Marketing of Petroleum Products. She is currently pursuing a degree course in Public Administration.
